The Supreme Court has ordered CBI investigation into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. The apex court SC was hearing actor Rhea Chakraborty’s petition seeking transfer of investigation in #SSR death case from Patna in Bihar to Mumbai. Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti, Ankita Lokhande, and Akshay Kumar have welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict.
The Supreme Court gave its verdict on the Sushant Singh Rajput family vs Rhea Chakraborty case on Wednesday.
The SC allowed the CBI to take control of the investigation. The verdict was pronounced by Justice Hrishikesh Roy under under section 406 CrPC.
The Supreme Court judgement is 35 pages long.”SC also said that any other FIR registered in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death will also be investigated by the CBI. We hope that we should get justice soon. The family is very happy with the decision ,” said Vikas Singh, lawyer of Sushant Singh Rajput’s father.The court ensured that there was no confusion about CBI being sole authority to probe mystery behind Rajput’s suicidal death and that no other state police could interfere with it. The apex court asked the Mumbai Police to hand over all evidence collected in the case to CBI.
A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy said that FIR registered by the
Bihar Police on the complaint of Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh is correct and the reference to the CBI is lawful. The state of Maharashtra refused the option to challenge the order, says Supreme Court. Supreme Court said that Bihar government is competent to transfer the case to the CBI for investigation.
Based on Sushant singh Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh’s complaint that Rhea Chakraborty was responsible for abetment of his son’s suicide, Patna Police registered an FIR on July 25. Singh also alleged that Chakraborty illegally transferred Rs 15 crore from Sushant singh Rajput’s bank account. However, the actress has denied all allegations and maintained that she will cooperate with an investigation launched by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Meanwhile, KK Singh was quizzed by the ED on his son’s finances on Tuesday. The CBI also registered a case against Chakraborty and three members of her family members. Sushant Singh Rajput, was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14.
